Meanwhile

Another Independence Day has come and gone, this one not much more than a footnote here in our otherwise quiet neighborhood. We had some stray firecrackers going off a few days early (once at 3am, annoyingly) but due to Karl the Fog’s consistent presence in the evening these past several days. There wasn’t much to see from our new abode other than a few flashes of underlit fog. Suffice it to say, the cats were not happy about the noise. Thankfully, we were well away from the nightmare traffic of North Beach and the Marina District that apparently lasted multiple hours.

I am happy to say that the Remaster work for The Persistence of Memories is running smoothly so far. I did need to pull out my physical copy of A Division of Souls (yes, the remastered one) to check on a reference or two, but otherwise there haven’t been too many major changes as of yet. Just a few word choice fixes and minor edits is all. I am expecting a few major fixes to arise eventually — last I recall, when I last did a reread I remember one or two things sticking out that bothered me — but for the most part we’re still on schedule. I haven’t made a concrete drop date yet, but I’m figuring it’ll be at least some point in Q4.

More to come soon when I have news!

Fly-by: brb, dealing with allergies

This time I’m not so much stuffed up as my sinuses are congested and waking me up at night. I’m just tired enough to feel like I’m running on an almost empty tank the last few days. I’ve been taking the occasional Benadryl in hopes that it goes away, but this is what happens when you live right down the street from a Big Famous Park full of blooming and pollenating things. Alas, this means my brain isn’t quite braining enough to word correctly without considerable effort, so I’m going to take it easy.

Hopefully this will be over soon!

Fly-by: brb, RL stuff

Not to fear, it’s all good! Just some Real Life stuff that’s been a long time coming, finally coming to fruition. Very good news indeed, and I’m glad I’m finally seeing the end results. One less thing weighing down on me!

(Well, that, and it’s been a hectic week at the Day Job and I decided to take it easy and relax a bit.)

See you on Monday!

Still here, just feeling loopy

I’ve been doing 5:30am opens all week while the head bookkeeper is out, and I’m so not used to it. Thankfully I’ve been very particular about balancing my energy levels and sleep patterns, so I’m not so much exhausted as just using my brain just a bit too much. Who knew that Q4 retail could use up so many mental spoons? Heh.

Still, I’m managing to slowly slog through the parts of Theadia that I’m working on. It’s taking forever, but I’m bound and determined to get this dang thing out one way or another!

Fly-by: Nothing much, just busy

I’m working on Theadia and I’m a few chapters in already, so that’s a good sign. I still need to fix things here and there, and I do need to insert a new chapter or two here and there to expand the cast more, but for the most part the current draft is looking good. Most of my creative focus has been there these days, so my blogging may be scattershot for a little while until I feel I’m better able to hold onto a schedule.

Thanks for your patience!

Fly-by: keeping busy and trilogy thoughts

Hey all! Sorry for the lack of updates this week. I’ve been primarily focusing on the last quarter of the Trilogy Remaster work for A Division of Souls and it’s taking up all my writing time at the moment. However, I’m on the final stretch, a good couple of months ahead of time! Woo! I’m still on track for the September rerelease!

Speaking of which, I assume you’re wondering if I’m going to follow through and remaster the other two books in the trilogy, and I would say I’m 99% certain that I will indeed be working on them sometime in the future! Unlike this one, however, I’m probably not going to stick to the same exact release dates as the originals. Why? Basically because I really do need to get cracking on Theadia, which has sadly fallen by the wayside over the last couple of months!

So yeah, hopefully I’ll have my head on straight come next week and we’ll be back to normal programming! See you soon!
